I have dreams, big ones, but I doubt he'd ever let me chase them. I have no idea why Brennan, practically Bostonian royalty, decided to kidnap me, marry me and cage me in his beautiful penthouse.
But I do know this: pissing off this man will not do me any good. At all.

So... this was my first book by L.J. Shen and I have to admit that I was in for a very pleasant surprise! Here are my very honest thoughts:
A mafia book? I just HAD to read this one! The cover and blurb was what got me hooked and I am so happy that I got to read this baby early! I read this book in a matter of hours, I simply could not put it down!
Let just be straight and tell you ladies that Troy is not an easy guy to like in this book. He is overbearing and rude at the best of times and we do not even want to be near him during his ''moods''. Sparrow, on the other hand, is quiet and resilient girl who is stuck in a very bad situation. However, she is not one to be playing victim and ultimately, her strong personality is what makes her aloof husband see her in a different light.
Their story is not an easy one whereby the dangerous guy falls for the innocent girl but it is one filled with secrets, lies, hurt and bad decisions that have the power of tearing the couple apart. The plot is certainly not something that has never been written before but the way it was written will make you fall in love with the characters and soon you will be desperately rooting for them to be together. The snippy and funny comebacks between Troy and Sparrow were simply the best! She gave as good as he dished out- the fearsome Troy Brennan had finally met his match!
This book made it to my list of 5 stars mafia books and I will definitely be recommending SPARROW to anyone who is asking for recommendations in this genre! This is not the last book that I'll be reading of yours, L.J. Shen!
