Mettle is book two of the Spartan Riders series. I do not recommend this without reading Grit book one. J.C. Valentine captures the motorcycle family like no other.

I love this motorcycle club with their loyalty to brotherhood and respect of each other. These men are rough around the edges until they fall for their women then we see the tenderness shine through. The protectiveness that these men surround their loved ones with is fierce.

Talia has left her past across the country and is ready to put her work first and one night stands second. The only relationship she is completely committed to is her job and starting fresh in a new town.

Tucker aka Country is the Sergeant of Arms for the Spartans and has never met a woman worthy of wearing his patch. He takes his women hard and knows exactly what it takes to please them then send them on their way.

Talia is sassy and confident but a challenge for Tuck. They are explosive together both in and out of bed. Tuck might be the one Talia can fall for but she's holding something back. Talia could be it for Tuck if he can trust her enough to let her into his world.

Ms. Valentine gives us a fantastic story in Mettle. We also catch up with the Prez and Gabby and Ash along with glimpses of the other brawn and muscle that are the Spartans. There were parts that had me on the edge of my seat. I look forward to reading the next installment of these sexy, loyal Riders.
