Charlie proves herself everyday in her testosterone filled job but she can do her job as well as all the men at Alpha Security. In short she is a bad ass. When she is offered a case that is close to home she knows it will bring up bad memories of the past and of her family but she knows she is the one for the job. Vince is an ex SEAL and is the one chosen to accompany Charlie on this job. They are both stubborn and will get on each others nerves while playing the engaged couple. In truth these two were funny at times with their snarky remarks to each other. When their was sexy time is was hot, hot, hot.
This is the first book I have read in this series and I loved all the characters. I will have to look into the first two books. All of the males of Alpha Security were alpha, hot, and funny. As Vince and Charlie deal with their feelings for each other it is a dance around secrets and their pasts. These two were meant for each other.
I loved this story not for just the romance and characters but also for the danger, suspense, secrets, family and action. There were secrets revealed that I did not see coming.
